For some couples, a shared passion can lead straight to a lifetime of happiness. Madeleine and Scott first crossed paths in 2016 as freshmen at Clemson University. Living in the same dorm and both swimming for the university's club swim team, it was only a matter of time before they began walking to and from practices together. Madeleine was instantly drawn to Scott's great smile and matching sense of humor. Their fast friendship quickly blossomed between swim meets, late-night study sessions, and rowdy Clemson football games, officially turning into a relationship by their sophomore year.
Over the next nearly a decade, they filled their timeline with beautiful memories, including regular trips to 30A on the Florida panhandle. Sharing those coastal getaways allowed Madeleine to bring Scott into her childhood traditions, creating a special retreat they still visit twice a year. When it came time to propose, Scott pulled off the ultimate surprise just before Thanksgiving 2024. Convincing Madeleine they were just grabbing a casual drink at his parents' neighborhood clubhouse before heading to the big Clemson rivalry game, he led her inside to a private table overlooking the river. Adorned with a gorgeous bouquet of roses and a bottle of champagne, it was the perfect, intimate setting for Scott to drop to one knee and ask for forever.

An Ethereal Winter Celebration at the Clubhouse
Because Scott’s company had hosted memorable holiday parties at TPC Sawgrass in the past, the venue was already at the top of their list. When Madeleine and her dad toured the majestic property together, they instantly got the best feeling about it. With nearby hotels and a beautiful church just down the road, it offered the perfect, seamless layout for their loved ones.
To bring their winter wedding to life, they chose a stunning, ethereal design theme overflowing with lush greenery and crisp white blooms curated by Anything With Plants. First Coast Weddings and Events meticulously coordinated every single detail behind the scenes. Adding a deeply personal touch, Madeleine’s sister used her graphic design skills to create a custom wedding logo, which was seamlessly woven throughout the day's decor and custom stationery by Heather O’Brien Design.
The day held an extra layer of childhood magic for Madeleine. Growing up as a fan of Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, she always dreamed of finding her gown at Bridals by Lori. Shopping there alongside her mom, sister, and grandmother turned finding her dream dress into a treasured family memory.
A Grand Reveal and High-Energy Traditions
The wedding day kicked off with flawless styling by the team at Paulina Perez, preparing Madeleine for the moment she anticipated most. Keeping things strictly traditional, the couple opted out of a first look. Instead, they saved their big reveal for the ceremony at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Locking eyes for the absolute first time as Madeleine walked down the aisle was an incredibly emotional, sacred milestone shared with all the family and friends who have supported them since their college days.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a smooth arrival back at the reception thanks to the professional valet services of The Auto Valet and seamless coordination by Barr’s Transportation. Inside the grand space beautifully transformed with rentals from All About Events, a sentimental photo table showcased generations of family wedding history.
When it was time for dessert, guests treated themselves to a stunning, multi-layered masterpiece by Classic Cakes, featuring alternating tiers of classic vanilla and rich chocolate cake with sweet raspberry filling. With the formalities complete, Generation Y Entertainment turned up the music and completely packed the dance floor. As huge sports fans, trivia buffs, and lifelong athletes, the newlyweds and their guests brought an unmatched energy to the room, celebrating all night long under the perfect wedding hashtag: #EibelieveInLove.
As the magical winter evening drew to a close, the new Mr. and Mrs. Eibel prepared to cross off a massive joint bucket list item. They are packing their bags for an incredible two-week honeymoon across Hawaii to explore the islands together. It is the perfect start to a lifetime of game nights, shared swim practices, and building a beautiful future together.
