October is a beautiful month. The weather cools down, leaves change color and fall, and Halloween casts a spooky spell on us all. But for Heather and Dylan, this month holds a special place in their hearts. They love October so much that they even got engaged on Halloween night! Fast forward to October 7th, 2023, and the duo tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at St. Johns Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine, FL. Bow Tie Photo & Video was honored to photograph and video their special day, and we're excited to share all the details with you.
Heather and Dylan's love story is a special one. They met through an introduction from Heather's cousin, who later became her maid of honor. Dylan managed to forever capture Heather's heart by disappearing on Halloween night while they were handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. He returned dressed as a trick-or-treater and then popped the question in a sweet and memorable way. And from that moment on, the journey towards their wedding day began!
The couple's love for October and the spooky fall season inspired them to plan a beautiful wedding that highlighted the best of this time of year. They chose St. John's Golf and Country Club because it was close to their previous home, and one of their friends had gotten married there before and had an amazing experience. They also booked Bow Tie Photo & Video because Heather was a big fan of our style, as well as Jacksonville Flower Market for florals and Crème de la Cocoa for their stunning cake.
Full Circle Weddings was chosen for their DJ services, and everybody had a great time boogying down. Dylan was even captured juggling on the dance floor!
Heather looked absolutely stunning in her white lace wedding gown. Her bridesmaids wore deep, burgundy-colored dresses, and the men rocked tuxedos with ties that matched the ladies. There were elegant touches of Halloween throughout the little details, including a dress change to black lace for Heather and some witches hats for her bridal party! But before all that, while getting ready, the girls had a photo-op with an interesting backdrop, so to speak!
When it came time, the wedding ceremony was both emotional and beautiful, with the couple exchanging personal vows, sealed with a kiss, before heading off to take some breathtaking photos with Bow Tie Photo & Video. The reception was a joyous culmination of all their planning and preparation and their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner with wine before letting loose on the dance floor.
